About the BarPalma Beauty Careers Academy

BarPalma Beauty Careers Academy consists of one location engaged in cosmetology and nail technologies education.  It is located in the southwest section of Roanoke, Virginia; nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Its campus is situated in Franklin Square, a small shopping center shared with a KMart and a Red Lobster restaurant.

The academy had its beginning in 1958 as Hollywood School of Beauty Culture, Inc.  On May 1, 1997, the corporation was sold to Barbara Hensley and an associate.  The name was changed to BarPalma Beauty Careers Academy in 2003, derived from the first names of its owners.  In 2006, Barbara Hensley, who has 42 years of experience in the beauty industry, became the sole owner of BarPalma Beauty Careers Academy.   The Academy has a long history of educating and placing graduates.
